Lufkin Police Officer Injured in Lufkin Traffic Accident on Timberland Drive

Lufkin, Texas (May 5, 2019) – A traffic collision that occurred at the scene of another crash injured a police officer who was working the incident on Saturday afternoon in Lufkin.
According to the DPS, the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, on Timberland Drive.
The report showed that the vehicles involved in the earlier collision had been pulled into the Cox Muffler parking lot when the officer working the accident was struck.
The victim was flown to a hospital out of town and was conscious and alert.
No details were provided on the driver who hit the officer.
The DPS is investigating the incident.
