1 Injured in Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash on Big Divide Road at US 190 in Copperas Cove

One Injured in Copperas Cove Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash on Big Divide Road at US Highway 190

Copperas Cove, Texas (February 2, 2022) – One person was injured Tuesday morning in a fiery two-vehicle crash on the western side of Copperas Cove, according to the police.

The crash happened around 10:15 a.m., February 1, at the intersection of Big Divide Road and U.S. Highway 190.

Police said a black Dodge pickup truck was attempting to turn left from Big Divide Road onto eastbound U.S. 190 when it was struck by a westbound dump truck.

The dump truck then struck one of the signal light poles at the intersection, before catching fire. The driver was able to exit the vehicle before the first responders arrived.

The Dodge driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Copperas Cove Police Department is investigating the crash.
