Philip Parker Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on President George Bush Turnpike in Carrollton

Carrollton, Texas (October 19, 2022) – Authorities have identified one of the two people who died following a traffic accident late Tuesday night in Carrollton as Phillip Parker, 82, of Carrollton.

The deadly crash occurred at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 18 on the President George Bush Turnpike near Josey Lane.

According to the authorities, a Carrollton police officer was backing up a DWI investigation in the westbound lanes of the President George Bush Turnpike when the officer was struck by a car, driven by Parker.

Parker was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer was transported to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
