Diana Salazar Killed in Houston Uber Crash on Jensen Drive near Parker

Houston, Texas (September 24, 2020) – Two women were killed Saturday night in an Uber crash in northeast Houston, according to deputies.

The fatal crash occurred around 11:30 p.m., September 19, on Jensen Drive near Parker.

Authorities said Harris County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to pull over Brian Tatum, 51, for running several red lights while racing another vehicle, but Tatum sped away at a high rate of speed.

The other vehicle stopped for the police.

Deputies pursued Tatum for around a mile before he crashed into a rideshare car that was turning left onto Parker from Jensen.

Two women, Diana Salazar and Priscilla De Leon, who were riding in the back of the rideshare car were ejected. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The Uber driver and Tatum were taken to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment.

Tatum was later discharged and was taken to jail on two felony murder charges.

Officials said Tatum has extensive criminal records in Texas and California that span more than 20 years.

The crash remains under investigation.
