Woman Injured in Crash with Big Rig on Sam Houston Parkway in Pearland

Woman Injured in Pearland Big Rig Crash on Sam Houston Parkway near Cullen Boulevard

Pearland, Texas (May 16, 2020) – A woman in her 40s was injured early Saturday morning in a crash with a big rig in Pearland, according to a local news source.

The crash occurred around 3:57 a.m. on S Sam Houston Parkway East, near Cullen Boulevard.

Deputies said the woman was driving a sedan when she missed her exit and slid under an H-E-B trailer that was making a morning delivery.

The big rig dragged the sedan for about 20 feet.

Officials said the roads were slick at the time of the crash.

The woman was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, and she was unresponsive. She had suffered gashes on her face, lost her left arm, and also lost her left eye.

The driver of the 18 wheeler was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
