50-Year-Old Woman Killed, 4 Injured in Dallas County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20; 16-Year-Old Boy Arrested

Dallas County, Texas (March 22, 2021) – A woman was killed, and a 16-year-old boy was arrested following a two-vehicle crash that left four other people injured early Sunday morning in Dallas County, according to deputies.

The fatal crash happened around 12:45 a.m., March 21, in the 39500 block of Interstate 20 eastbound.

Authorities said the 16-year-old boy was driving a 2007 Nissan when he rear-ended a Ford F150.

The force of the impact caused both vehicles to veer to the right and spin. The Ford then overturned down an embankment.

The Ford driver, a 50-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

Four other people in the Ford, an 11-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man, and a 37-year-old man, were taken to local hospitals in stable condition.

The Nissan driver fled the scene on foot, but he was found shortly and arrested. He was taken to the Henry Ward Juvenile Facility on a charge of failing to stop and render aid in an accident involving death.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws, or statutes which were violated.
