Motorcyclist Hospitalized after Rear-End Crash on Interstate 69 in Eastex

Motorcycle Rider Critically Injured in Eastex Crash on Interstate 69 near Crosstimbers
Eastex, Texas (March 6, 2019) – A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday night in a rear-end crash in the Eastex area, according to authorities.
The wreck was reported at about 9:00 p.m. Monday, March 4 on Interstate 69 near Crosstimbers.
Authorities said the motorcyclist was heading eastbound on Interstate 69 when he failed to control his speed and crashed into the rear of a flatbed truck that was also traveling in the same direction. The truck was carrying large stacks of wood at the time of the collision.
The motorcycle rider was transported to a hospital in critical condition.  The driver of the truck was not injured.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.
The authorities closed part of the freeway for a few hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. As of 12:30 a.m. the road was reopened.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
