Zachary Rodriguez Killed in Wilson County Car Crash on CR 417 near CR 418

Wilson County, Texas (August 25, 2023) – A man was killed Monday evening in a car crash in Wilson County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened shortly after 6:00 p.m., August 21, on CR 417 near the intersection with C.R. 418 northeast of Stockdale.

DPS said a 2021 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound when it passed a vehicle when it was unsafe to do so and collided with a vehicle driven by Zachary Jacob Rodriguez, 21, of Pleasanton.

Rodriguez was killed in the crash.

The driver of the Camry was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio with serious injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours following the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
