One Injured in Slaton Crash on U.S. Highway 84 at FM 1585
Slaton, Texas (January 9, 2019) – One person was injured in a traffic crash near Slaton Wednesday morning, according to a local news source.
The crash was reported at around 7:14 a.m. on U.S. Highway 84 at the intersection with FM 1585.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a pickup truck was heading eastbound on Highway 84 when it rear-ended an 18-wheeler that had just pulled onto Highway 84 traveling eastbound. Authorities said the 18-wheeler had not yet reached full speed.
The pickup truck driver sustained moderate injuries and was transported to University Medical Center.
Traffic snarled for hours at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
