1 Injured in Hit-and-Run at Martin Luther King Blvd and Texas Blvd in Texarkana; Quinton Brown Arrested

Texarkana, Texas – One person was injured last week in a hit-and-run accident in Texarkana, according to the Texarkana Police Department.

The crash happened on April 25, at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Texas Boulevard.

Police said Quinton Rashad Brown, 28, of Lewisville, Ark., was driving a gray Chevrolet Impala through the intersection when he hit a cement truck driven by a Red River Ready Mix employee.

The cement truck flipped onto its side after the crash.

Brown fled the scene on foot after the accident.

The driver of the cement truck was taken to a local hospital with back and shoulder injuries.

A passenger in the Impala told police that she only knew the Impala’s driver as “Rashad” and did not have a photo of him. Brown was spotted at Wadley Regional Medical Center in downtown Texarkana and was seen leaving as a passenger in a blue Dodge Charger. The Charger was pulled over on Oak Street near Kidtopia Park. Brown was arrested and released the next day on a $15,000 bond. If convicted of leaving the scene of an accident, he faces six months to two years in a state jail.

The police are investigating the crash.
