One Killed and Six Injured in Kimble County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 377

Kimble County, Texas (February 6, 2022) – One person was killed, and six others were injured Thursday night in a head-on collision in Kimble County near London, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on February 3, on the U.S. 377 North.

Authorities said Arizona’s Venom Volleyball team was traveling from Goodyear to Austin, Texas to compete in the Lone Star National Qualifier when their SUV ran into black ice, lost control, crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into an 18-wheeler.

There were three girls from the team, three moms from the team, and a sister in the SUV at the time of the crash, and five of them were ejected.

One of the players, a 17-year-old, was killed in the crash. Two other players were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The sister was also injured but was listed in stable condition.

One of the moms was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The other two mons sustained minor injuries in the crash and were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
