Man Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Scott Street near Alabama

Houston, Texas (January 3, 2023) – A man was fatally hit by a METRO bus on New Year’s night in Houston, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident happened just before midnight, January 1, on Scott Street near Alabama near the University of Houston campus.

According to the authorities, witnesses said the man was running toward the bus, so the driver tried to veer left to avoid hitting him. The man ran into the side of the vehicle, lost his footing, and fell and was struck by the bus.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

No injuries were reported on the bus.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
