Driver Killed in Houston Crash on Loop 610
Houston, Texas (July 4, 2019) – A person was killed Wednesday morning in a traffic collision in Houston, according to a local news source.
The tragic wreck occurred at about 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3 on Loop 610.
As per the report, the driver of a semi-truck was traveling on the roadway when he was cut off by a small passenger car.
The semi driver cut the wheel to miss the car. In doing so, the semi-truck driver drove over the side of the Ship Channel Bridge, traveling about 150-feet to the ground below.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the driver of the semi-truck. The victim sustained major injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The crash remains under investigation.
