1 Killed in Head-On Crash on SH 71 in Eastern Travis County

One Killed in Eastern Travis County Vehicle Crash on State Highway near Doctor Scott Drive

Travis County, Texas (September 2, 2023) – One person was killed, and another was injured early Saturday morning in a head-on collision in Eastern Travis County, according to officials.

The fatal crash happened around 2:45 a.m., in the 4600 block of E. State Highway 71 eastbound, near Doctor Scott Drive.

Officials said vehicles collided head-on on the highway.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with potentially serious injuries.

The crash closed the highway.

No other information was available.

The crash remains under investigation.
