One Killed in Spicewood Auto-Pedestrian Accident on State Highway 71 near Pedernales River

Spicewood, Texas (June 10, 2020) – A pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Spicewood, officials said.

The accident occurred around 6:10 a.m. in the 23000 block of State Highway 71 near the Pedernales River.

Officials said an adult pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the highway.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

The crash closed westbound Highway 71, and traffic was diverted onto Pace Bend Road.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
