1 Seriously Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on IH-35 in San Antonio

San Antonio, Texas – One person was seriously injured Friday night in a crash in San Antonio, according to the police.

The crash happened around 10:23 p.m., April 12, on IH-35 at Southcross Boulevard.

Police said a Gray Toyota Matrix was traveling northbound on IH-35 when it crashed into the center median at Southcross Boulevard. The driver then fled the scene on foot and left the Matrix in the number 2 lane of the street.

A while later, a tour bus with 26 passengers was traveling in lane number 2 when it went over the hill and swerved to the right to avoid hitting the Matrix. The tour bus then hit a White Chevy Silverado and a White Toyota Corolla in another lane. The Chevy hit the right wall after the collision and rolled over onto its side.

A passenger in the Chevy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and was listed in stable condition.

The driver of the Matrix was found a few blocks away from the crash scene. He was arrested and is facing intoxication assault charges, and fail to stop and render aid – serious bodily injury.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
