Woman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 45 Gulf Freeway near Edgebrook

Houston, Texas (March 3, 2023) – A woman died after she was struck by a METRO bus early Thursday morning in Houston, authorities said.

The deadly crash occurred just before 2:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, on Interstate 45 Gulf Freeway near Edgebrook.

According to authorities, the woman was walking across the middle of the freeway when she was hit by the bus that was traveling northbound.

The bus was headed to the METRO Polk Street bus operating facility at the time, but there was not in service. No passengers were on board.

The woman, whose name has not been released, died in the crash.

The freeway was closed for several hours as the METRO police investigated the crash.
