3 Injured in Houston School Bus Crash on East Freeway at Mercury Drive

Houston, Texas (November 6, 2019) – Three people including a 15-year-old suspect were injured Tuesday morning in a traffic collision involving a school bus in Houston, according to the police.

The collision took place around 11:00 a.m. November 5, on the East Freeway service road (Interstate 10) at Mercury Drive.

Police said officers were pursuing a stolen pickup truck, driven by a 15-year-old suspect when it crashed into a Galena Park ISD school bus in the eastbound lanes of the freeway.

Two adults on the bus and the suspect were taken to the hospital for treatment.

No students were onboard the bus at the time of the crash.

The suspect will likely face evading and auto theft charges.

The police are investigating the crash.
