Police Officer Hit, Injured by Vehicle on Southeast Third Avenue in Amarillo

Police Officer Injured in Amarillo Pedestrian Accident on Southeast Third Avenue

Amarillo, Texas (July 13, 2023) – An Amarillo police officer was injured Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Amarillo, according to the police.

The accident was reported around 7:20 a.m., on July 12, on Southeast Third Avenue.

Police said the officer was hit by a vehicle while crossing the crosswalk. 

The officer was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident closed all lanes of southeast Third Avenue between Taylor Street and Fillmore Street.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
