One Killed in Cottondale Motorcycle Crash at FM and FM 2123

Cottondale, Texas (August 14, 2023) – One person was killed Friday morning in a motorcycle crash near Cottondale, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 11:30 a.m., August 11, at the intersection of FM 51 and FM 2123.

DPS said a 2011 International Box truck was traveling eastbound and was crossing FM 2123 when it collided with a motorcycle that was traveling northbound on FM 51.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.  

The box truck driver, Demond Cortez Nettles, 50, of Little Elm, was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
