Sven Johansson Injured in Two-Car Crash on US 96 in Jasper County

Sven Johansson Injured in Jasper County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 96

Jasper County, Texas (December 9, 2022) – Two people were injured late last month in a two-vehicle crash south of the Jasper County line, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m., November 29, on U.S. Highway 96.

DPS said a 2007 Honda passenger car was traveling southbound without any lighting on the vehicle when it was rear-ended by a 2014 Dodge SUV.

The Honda driver, Sven Johansson, 56, of Buna, and one passenger were taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The Dodge driver, Paul Burchett, 18, of Kirbyville, and one passenger were uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
