Houston, Texas (November 23, 2020) – A 19-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Houston, according to deputies.

The fatal crash happened around 1:30 p.m., November 22, on West Road.

Deputies said a fight broke out between two men at a parking lot of a bank. One of the men got into a car driven by the 19-year-old woman, and she sped away without her seatbelt on and the door open.

The car was then struck by a Dodge pickup truck, ejecting the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene after she hit her head on the pavement.

The Dodge driver attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended nearby and arrested. He has been charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop and render aid.

The two men who were involved in the fight were also detained.

The crash remains under investigation.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons for driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
