Two Injured in Lubbock Two-Vehicle Crash at FM 1585 and Highway 87

Lubbock, Texas (January 5, 2020) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Lubbock, according to the DPS.

The crash occurred on Saturday, January 4, at the intersection of FM 1585 and Highway 87.

DPS said an SUV was heading southbound through the intersection while a black pickup was heading eastbound on FM 1585, approaching the intersection. The brakes of the pickup failed, and it hit the SUV at the intersection.

The driver and passenger of the SUV were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.

No one on the pickup was injured in the crash. One person in the pickup was arrested by the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office on warrants out of the Lubbock Police Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
