2 Injured in Truck Crash on FM 1223 and Janie Lane in San Angelo

Driver and Passenger Injured in San Angelo Truck Crash on FM 1223 and Janie Lane

San Angelo, Texas (October 10, 2020) – Two people were injured Friday morning in a traffic collision east of San Angelo, according to police.

The crash happened on October 9, at the intersection of FM 1223 and Janie Lane.

Police said a white Chevrolet pickup was heading southbound on FM 1223 and was attempting to make a left turn onto Janie Lane.

A commercial furniture truck was also traveling southbound and rear-ended the pickup at a high rate of speed.

The furniture truck then struck a fire hydrant and a tree.

A Dodge Caliber that was traveling northbound on FM 1223 was struck by crash debris.

The driver of the furniture truck was pinned in the vehicle.

The driver and passenger of the furniture truck were taken to Shannon Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the furniture truck will be cited for failure to control speed.  

The crash remains under investigation.
