Two Killed in San Marcos Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35

San Marcos, Texas (September 2, 2023) – Two people were killed Friday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in San Marcos, according to officials.

The fatal crash happened around 7:00 a.m., September 1, on Interstate 35.

Officials said a GMC pickup truck was traveling northbound when it lost control while changing lanes and hit an 18-wheeler. The GMC then struck another truck before flipping over the center median and into the southbound lanes of traffic, where it hit a minivan. Another collision took place in the northbound lane.

A passenger in the GMC was pronounced dead at the scene. The minivan driver was taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead. 

The identities of the victims have not been released.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
