Two Women Injured in Cooke County Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-35 near Lone Oak Road

Cooke County, Texas (July 1, 2020) – Two women were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in southern Cooke County, according to the Texas Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 4:50 p.m., June 29, on Interstate 35 near Lone Oak Road.

DPS said a pickup with a trailer hauling plywood lost some of its wood at a curve on the highway, and people stopped to get the wood, slowing traffic.

A semi-truck towing a trailer came around the corner and struck several vehicles, including a Ford Fiesta.

The Ford driver, a 31-year-old Sanger woman, and her passenger, a 39-year-old woman from The Colony, were taken to Medical City Denton for treatment.

The driver was listed in stable condition while the passenger was listed in critical condition.

The semi-truck driver, a 46-year-old man from Arapaho, Oklahoma, was cited for failure to control speed.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
