Houston, Texas (June 28, 2023) – One person was killed, and two others were injured Monday night in a two-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 10:15 p.m., June 26, in the 11501 block of U.S. Highway 90.

Police said a maroon Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling southbound on the highway when it was struck by a southbound gray Chevrolet Equinox.

The impact caused the pickup truck to veer off the road, strike a median pillar and continue off the roadway to a grassy area.

A 22-year-old man, who was a passenger in the Dodge, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released. The male driver, 23, of the Chevrolet and the female driver, 47, of the Dodge were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
