3 Killed in Fiery Wrong-Way Crash on Westpark Tollway in Richmond 

Three Killed in Richmond Two-Vehicle Crash on Westpark Tollway near FM 1464

Richmond, Texas (July 9, 2021) – Three people were killed early Friday morning in a fiery wrong-way crash in Richmond, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash happened around 1:15 a.m. on the Westpark Tollway near FM 1464.

Deputies said a dark-colored sedan was traveling the wrong way when it crashed into a white Audi SUV.

The Audi caught fire after the crash, and by the time firefighters arrived, the fire was spreading to the sedan.

The Audi driver, a woman, was trapped inside the burning vehicle.

The sedan driver, a 28-year-old man, and the Audi driver were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 2-year-old nephew of the wrong-way driver was not in a car seat at the time of the crash. The child was airlifted to the Texas Medical Center, where they later died.

No further details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
