3-Year-Old Killed in Crash with 18-Wheeler on East Sam Houston Parkway in East Harris County

3-Year-Old Boy Killed, 2 Injured in East Harris County Two-Vehicle Crash on East Sam Houston Parkway at Crosby Freeway

Sheldon, Texas (April 17, 2020) According to the deputies, a 3-year-old boy was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler in east Harris County.

The fatal crash occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m. April 16, in the 7600 block of East Sam Houston Parkway at the intersection of Crosby Freeway.

Deputies said a woman was driving a small SUV with a 12-year-old girl in the passenger seat and an unrestrained 3-year-old boy in the back seat.

The woman ran a red light at the intersection and was hit by an 18-wheeler.

The impact ejected the 3-year-old from the SUV, and he was pronounced at the scene.

The SUV was torn in two.

The woman and the 12-year-old girl were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

The driver of the big rig was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
