2 Children, 3 Adults Hospitalized after 2-Vehicle Accident on U.S. Highway 84 at FM 939 in Axtell

7-Year-Old Girl, 12-Year-Old Boy and 3 Others Injured in Axtell Car Accident on U.S. Highway 84 at FM 939
Axtell, Texas (April 27, 2019) – Five people, including a 7-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, were injured Friday night in a two-car accident near Axtell, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The wreck happened at about 7:50 p.m. Friday, April 26 on U.S. Highway 84 at FM 939, just east of Axtell.
The DPS said a Mitsubishi SUV carrying two children, was heading southbound on FM 939 when its driver failed to stop at a red light at the intersection with Highway 84 and was hit by a Chevrolet passenger car that was traveling eastbound.
The two children were transported to hospitals in Waco and Temple in critical condition. The Mitsubishi driver and the two occupants of the Chevrolet were also taken to local hospitals with unspecified injuries.
The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
