Frank Sanchez ID’d as Man Killed in Lubbock Pedestrian Accident on University Avenue

Lubbock, Texas (September 18, 2019) – The man who was killed in a pedestrian accident Monday night in South Lubbock has been identified as Frank Sanchez, 59, according to the police.

The accident happened just before 9:00 p.m. September 16, in the 8800 block of University Avenue.

According to a preliminary investigation, Sanchez was heading southbound on the right side of the right lane in his wheelchair when he was hit by a pickup truck.

Sanchez was taken to UMC where he was pronounced dead.

The occupants of the pickup stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Unit is conducting the investigation.
