6-Year-Old Boy Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on US 287 in Armstrong County

6-Year-Old Boy Killed in Armstrong County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 287

Armstrong County, Texas (April 15, 2021) – A 6-year-old boy was killed, and two other people, including an infant, were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Armstrong County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 7:00 p m. on US 287.

DPS said a 29-year-old woman was driving a 2005 Toyota 4Runner eastbound when she failed to drive in a single lane and crashed into a semi-truck that was parked on the southbound shoulder facing eastbound.

A 6-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released. He was secured in a booster seat at the time of the crash.

The woman and a 7-month-old infant boy were taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo with minor injuries, where they were treated and released.

The infant was secured in a car seat at the time of the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
