33-Year-Old Man Killed in Refugio County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 2678

Refugio County, Texas (December 15, 2019) – One person was killed in a head-on collision Friday night in Refugio County near Bayside, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 8:30 p.m., December 13, on FM 2678.

DPS said a Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes passing several cars while a Honda CRV was heading southbound.

The Honda driver, a 33-year-old man, moved onto the southbound shoulder in an attempt to avoid getting hit by the Dodge. The Dodge driver, unfortunately, moved to the shoulder and crashed head-on with the Honda.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. 

 The Dodge driver was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline for treatment.

The DPS troopers are investigating the crash.
