Kaiden Vinson and Peyton Chapman Killed in Chambers County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 124

Chambers County, Texas (June 9, 2020) – Four people were killed early Sunday morning in a head-on collision in Chambers County, according to troopers.

The fatal crash occurred around 1:40 a.m. June 7, on Highway 124, near Fig Ridge Road just south of Winnie.

DPS troopers said Kathy Torres-Garza, 20, was driving a Suburban southbound on the highway when a Honda car drifted across the center line and crashed head-on into her car.

Torres-Garza was killed in the crash.

The Honda driver, 17-year-old Kaiden Vinson, of Evadale, with his two passengers, 19-year-old William Taylor, of Silsbee, and 20-year-old Peyton Chapman, of Beaumont, were also killed in the crash.

Vinson and Chapman were siblings.

The occupants of the Honda were not wearing seatbelts.

The crash remains under investigation.
