Clarissa Arriaga Killed in Texarkana Two-Vehicle Crash at Summerhill Road and New Boston Road

Texarkana, Texas (March 18, 2021) – A woman was killed, and four other people, including a police officer, were injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Texarkana, according to police.

The deadly crash happened just before 4:00 a.m., March 17, at the intersection of Summerhill Road and New Boston Road.

Police said Francisco Arriaga, 47, of Pasadena, was driving an SUV when he failed to stop at a red light, and the SUV was struck on the passenger side by a patrol car driven by Nash Police Department Officer Sostenes Sanchez.

Francisco’s wife, Clarissa Arriaga, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Francisco and his two children (ages 21 and 15) were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Officer Sanchez was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
