John William Hayes, Jesus Antonio Delgado Garcia Killed in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on North Loop 1604 at Interstate 10

San Antonio, Texas (January 20, 2023) – Two people were killed on Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash in San Antonio, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened on January 17, at the intersection of North Loop 1604 frontage road and Interstate 10.

Police said Jesus Antonio Delgado Garcia, 25, was driving a fully loaded dump truck eastbound on the Loop 1604 frontage road when he ran a red light at the intersection and T-boned a white sedan driven by John William Hayes, 63.

The impact sent both vehicles about 40 yards down the access road before the sedan hit a concrete pillar.

The dump truck overturned, ejecting Garcia. He was taken to University Hospital, where he later died.

Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene. He was president of Activa Resources LLC, a San Antonio-based oil and gas company with assets in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas.

The police are investigating the crash.
