Sonya Anaya Killed in Midland County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 158 at CR 1135

Midland County, Texas (September 14, 2023) – The person who was killed last month in a two-vehicle crash in Midland County has been identified as 43-year-old Sonya Lujan Anaya of San Angelo, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on August 29 on SH 158 at CR 1135.

Authorities said a 2006 Nissan Altima was stopped in a private area on the southbound side of the highway while a 2023 GMC Sierra was traveling westbound.

The Altima traveled northbound across SH 158 to CR 1135, but failed to yield the right of way, and collided with the Sierra.

Anaya was pronounced dead at her residence on August 31.

No other information was available.

The crash remains under investigation.
