Ten Students Hurt in Bailey County School Bus Crash on SH 214 and CR 1028

Bailey County, Texas (June 12, 2019) – Ten students were injured when a Muleshoe ISD School bus was involved in a crash with an 18-wheeler on Tuesday afternoon in Bailey County, according to the DPS.

The crash occurred at the intersection of SH 214 and CR 1028 at about 2:20 p.m. June 11.

DPS said the bus was traveling northbound on Highway 214 when it attempted to turn west onto CR 1028 and was rear-ended by an 18-wheeler that tried to pass.

Ten students and the driver of the 18-wheeler were all taken to Muleshoe Area Medical Center for treatment. One of the children was later transferred to University Medical Center in Lubbock.

The DPS is investigating the incident.
