37-Year-Old Injured in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Evers Road

San Antonio, Texas – A 37-year-old was injured early Sunday morning after their vehicle was struck by a juvenile driver who was being chased by the police in San Antonio’s Northwest Side, according to the police.

The crash happened around 3:00 a.m., on Evers Road.

Police said they were attempting to stop a red Hyundai Elantra on suspicion of DWI when the driver, a juvenile, fled at a high rate of speed on the NW Loop 410 access road. While attempting to negotiate a turnaround, the Hyundai went onto a concrete median and across the northbound lanes of Evers Road, where it struck an Audi Q5.

The Audi driver, a 37-year-old, sustained serious injuries in the crash.

The Hyundai driver fled the scene on foot but was arrested. Officers discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen on Feb. 9. The driver was charged with collision involving injury, evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, evading arrest/detention on foot, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

The police are investigating the crash.
