Ector County, Texas (August 23, 2019) – A 4-year-old girl was killed and three other people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash at an Ector County intersection, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. on August 20, in the area of Highway 191 and FM 1882 (West County Road).

DPS said three vehicles were stopped at the traffic light on FM 1882 when Charles Cole, 30, failed to control his speed and hit one of the stopped vehicles, a 2005 Ford F-150 pick-up, causing a chain reaction.

A lawnmower which was in the back of the Ford was thrown into two other vehicles, which were in the next lane.

A four-year-old in the Ford was to University Medical Center in Lubbock where she later died.

Cole was uninjured in the crash.

Three other people were taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
