5 Hospitalized after Austin Crash at West Gate Boulevard and South Lamar Boulevard

Austin, Texas (June 27, 2019) – Five people were hospitalized Thursday morning following a traffic accident in Austin, authorities said.

The crash happened just before 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of West Gate Boulevard and the northbound service road for South Lamar Boulevard.

According to the authorities, two cars collided at the intersection for undetermined reasons.

First responders arrived at the scene and they extricated a juvenile who was trapped inside their vehicle. The child and one man were taken to a nearby hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.

Three other adults were also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
