Maria Ramirez and Jeremiah Ramon Killed in Laredo Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35

Laredo, Texas (December 21, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, two people were killed Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Laredo.

The fatal crash happened around 3:00 p.m., December 18, on southbound Interstate 35 near mile marker 20.

DPS said a commercial semi-tractor trailer was stalled on the right-hand shoulder due to a mechanical issue. A Dodge pickup truck lost control due to heavy rain and rear-ended the stalled semi-truck.

Two of the five people in the Dodge were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as Maria Matiana Ramirez, 27, of Roma, and Jeremiah Ramon, 4.

The semi-truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
