New Waverly, Texas (April 13, 2022) – Several people, including two infants, were injured in a traffic collision involving two vehicles in  New Waverly on Friday night, authorities said.

The two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Gibbs Street and FM 1375 E on April 8.

According to the authorities, one of the vehicles had just left a wedding celebration when, for unknown reasons, it collided with another vehicle at the intersection.

The impact caused the vehicle carrying the wedding attendees to rotate and hit a nearby utility pole. The second vehicle went briefly airborne and slammed into a building before it came to rest upside down.

Three adults and two infants were transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center with major injuries. The driver of the upside-down vehicle was freed from the car by firefighters and taken to Huntsville Memorial Hospital.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.

New Waverly Police is investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
