5 Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 2026 in Shelby County

Five Killed in Shelby County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 2026

Shelby County, Texas (August 17, 2020) – Five people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening in Shelby County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash happened around 5:40 p.m., August 16, on FM 2026.

DPS said a 30-year-old man was driving northbound at a high rate of speed when he crossed the yellow line and crashed into a southbound vehicle driven by a 15-year-old.

The 15-year-old was taken to the hospital where she later died. Her 2-year-old, 4-year-old and 11-year-old passengers were killed in the crash.

The man and his 14-year-old passenger were taken to Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport for treatment. His 60-year-old female passenger was killed in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
