Luis Ramirez Critically Injured in DUI Crash on Barker Cypress in Cypress

Luis Ramirez Critically Injured in Cypress Pedestrian Accident on Barker Cypress

Cypress, Texas (January 28, 2020) – One of the three Good Samaritans who were badly injured in a suspected DUI crash Monday morning in Cypress has been identified as Luis Ramirez, 32, according to the authorities.

The crash happened around 12:40 a.m., January 25, on Barker Cypress Road near Keith Harrow Road.

Deputies said Ramirez and others stopped to help the victims of a car that has been involved in a wreck on Barker Cypress Road.

Zachary Castro, 26, was driving a Toyota Tundra when he plowed into the Good Samaritans. He first hit Ramirez’s female friend, who was standing next to a car with its hazard lights on.

Castro then hit Ramirez and another man.

Ramirez sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The female victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in extremely critical condition.

The third victim was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Castro was charged with three counts of intoxication assault.

The crash remains under investigation.
