James Paxton Hit, Killed by Vehicle on I-35 in Austin

James Paxton Killed in South Austin Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35

Austin, Texas (June 18, 2021) – The man who was hit and killed by a vehicle earlier this month in south Austin has been identified as James Zachary Paxton, 43, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 11:25 a.m., June 3, in the 13300 block of Interstate 35 frontage road, near Slaughter Lane.

Police said Paxton had stopped his car on the shoulder of the highway to help another motorist when he was struck by a 2007 Chrysler van.

Paxton was pronounced dead at the scene.

The van driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with any information about the accident is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-6935.
