3 Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash at SE 11th Avenue and S Pierce Street in Amarillo

Three People Hospitalized after Amarillo Collision at SE 11th Avenue and S Pierce Street

Amarillo, Texas (July 9, 2022) – Three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon at an intersection in Amarillo, according to a local news source.

The crash occurred at around 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 8, at the intersection of SE 11th Avenue and S Pierce Street.

Police said a Jimmy John’s delivery truck was traveling eastbound on SE 11th Avenue when the driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and struck an F-150 pickup truck that was heading southbound on S Pierce Street.

A boy in the F-150 sustained a cut on his right leg, while his grandmother sustained unspecified injuries after airbag deployment. The driver of the delivery truck suffered a neck injury.

Al three patients were transported to a hospital for treatment. Their names have not been disclosed.

No other details were given.

The crash remains under investigation.
