1 Airlifted after Tractor-Trailer Crash at SH 88 and FM 490 in Elsa

One Injured in Elsa Crash at SH 88 and FM 490

Elsa, Texas (February 22, 2023) – One person was injured in a crash involving a tractor-trailer Monday morning near Elsa, according to the Texas Department of Safety.

The wreck happened at around 11:45 a.m. Monday, February 22, at the intersection of SH 88 and FM 490.

DPS said a truck tractor hauling a caliche trailer was stopped at the intersection of SH 88 and FM 490, facing west, while a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was heading northbound on SH 88.

The truck tractor failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and collided with the Chevrolet.

The driver of the Chevrolet was airlifted to Valley Baptist Medical Center in unknown condition. The driver of the truck tractor was unhurt.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
