Celestino Reina Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 19 in Hopkins County

Celestino Reina ID’d as 1 of 4 Killed in Hopkins County Crash on State Highway 19

Hopkins County, Texas (December 5, 2022) – One of the four people who were Sunday evening in a crash involving five vehicles in Hopkins County has been identified as Celestino Reina, 60, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The deadly crash happened at about 5:44 p.m. Sunday, December 4, on State Highway 19.

DPS said Gerald Lee Adams, 60, was driving a Ford truck northbound on State Highway 19 when he failed to control the speed and hit a 1998 Toyota, which then veered into the southbound lane and collided with two vehicles.

After the impact, the Ford truck continued northbound on SH 19 and collided with another vehicle.

Reina, who was the driver of the Toyota, died at the scene. His three passengers were also pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers and passengers of the two vehicles that collided with the 1998 Toyota were hurt in the crash. The extent of their injuries was not immediately disclosed.

The driver of the fifth vehicle, Rebecca Harris Goodson, 69, and her passenger, Joyce Marie Moore, 72, were not injured.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
