Eight Injured in Mineola Bus Accident on Loop 564

Mineola, Texas (March 20, 2023) – Eight people were hospitalized after a school bus crash in the Mineola Independent School District on Monday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The wreck occurred at about 7:00 a.m. on Loop 564, just north of the primary and middle school campuses.

Texas DPS said the school bus, with a dozen students, was traveling on Loop 564 when the bus crossed the center median and collided with a Nissan Versa.

Three students suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital. The others were treated at the scene.

The bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

DPS is investigating the incident.
